Many marketers promise the sky, offering a product or coaching program that promises a million dollar in a month. You and I know that is not possible. Most of us have fallen victim for such a scheme. What does it take to really achieve success in affiliate marketing. Read on to learn about the only mindset that has shifted my thought and open my eyes.
You read the title right. It was the first dollar. Not a hundred, not a thousand, not even ten dollars. It is one single dollar.
I see it every day that newbies in affiliate marketing focus on the wrong aspect that moves them away from building a business. One particular example would be passion. They do this because they focus too much on a lucrative market.
It doesn't matter how they feel about the market. The most important is they have a lot of money to spend, so they can make a lot of money. But you shouldn't insist merely on passion either.
While it is important, you should not merely choose a niche based on passion. What happens if you do that? Well, first of all, if you are lucky you will hit on the right niche, a niche with many rabid buyers and best selling products.
Most of the people are not that lucky though. Just because you passionately follow your heart doesn't mean money will follow. And passion without profitability is just hobby.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. No there isn't. If you are willing to work hard and serve your market without monetary return, more power to you. But I still recommend that you don't start out with a niche like that, because after all you need to feed a family or yourself.
Focus on making the first dollar in your promotion. The difference between a non-profit and a commercial entity is one dollar. How you offer something and get people to pay you. Once you've done it, you know you are a professional, one who doesn't play around. All you have to do is optimize, or put more effort into what you've done, and you are on the way to making the next dollar, and the next, and the next.
The difference between a hobby and the first dollar is huge. Many affiliate marketers remember their first check, or their first dollar. It was certainly an eye-opening experience for me too. The rest, as they say, is history. You only need to do more of what works to grow your income.
